In the early hours of May 13th, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, I dreamed that I was in charge of making sure a group of people with me all made it to the theatre on time. Once the doors were closed, I warned them, we would not be allowed in.
To my dismay, the people were dilly-dallying, making sure their makeup was just right. One of them looked like she had been made up by an undertaker. Enough already!
I looked at the clock, and was alarmed to find we had only 15 minutes to get to the venue! We would not get in if we did not get out the door. Time was extremely short.
I was in a panic and practically pushed people out the door. Finally, everyone was out and I pulled the door shut behind me. We could just make it.
That’s when I realized our tickets to the event – and the house keys – were still inside! There was no possibility now that we could get there in time. I was devastated.
I woke up very upset and had a hard time getting back to sleep.
As I pondered the dream I thought at first that it was just another panic dream, but the meaning unfolded over the next couple of days.
God has entrusted to us, as followers of Luisa, countless precious souls, particularly those who are spiritually unprepared. Times are dire and people, even Catholics, are focusing on trivialities. Distractions abound!
The dream contained crucial lessons, reminders in these times so dire to stay close to Jesus and Mary, maintain our peace, read the volumes, pray for souls, be faithful and attentive, live Divine Will.
We may feel very frustrated, and with good reason, but this is no time to panic. I was very frustrated in the dream, but by losing my peace I forgot the most important things, to the detriment of us all, for I too missed the event.
In the end I came to understand that the keys and tickets represented our acts and rounds in the Divine Will. These simple prayers will do infinitely more for souls than any amount of shouting and pushing. We need to keep these tickets and keys in our pocket at all times, at the ready, to be used for our good and the good of those souls God has placed in our care, that is, all souls of all time!
Two days after this dream, one of our Franciscan Newborns brothers posted this powerful confirmation to our WhatsApp chat:
“Since Heaven is fast approaching, we cannot waste even a single minute. In what way? By forgetting ourselves, mortifying our own will, loving the Immaculata perfectly and with all our heart, doing her will. Soon we will die. Time is short. We should remember these words in times of trouble.” (St. Maximilian Kolbe, KW 432)
Amen, St. Maximilian, Fiat.
