A Divine Will cenacle is a sacred space and time, outside of space and time. Where two or three are gathered in the Divine Will, the cares of Earth are suspended; we are present in the One Eternal Act of the Triune God. It is a gift of infinite value.
The following three simple lessons can help us appreciate the value of the Divine Will cenacles, which are a gift within the Gift.
Lesson 1 – Creature’s stuff
Through the Fiat of little Luisa, Our Lord put into motion a strategy of divine brilliance to defeat the darkness of these times. It is easy these days to focus on the darkness. But if darkness can be dispelled by just a little light, imagine what can a divine light can do!
Volume 30, January 3, 1932
[Jesus:] The nations will continue to fight against one another—some by war, some by revolution, among themselves and against my Church. They have a fire in their midst that devours them, that gives them no peace, and they can give no peace. It is the fire of sin, and the fire of acting without God that gives them no pace; and they will never make peace if they do not call God into their midst…
“But this does not prevent the kingdom of my supreme Fiat from coming; this is all creature’s stuff, of the low world, that my power knocks down and disperses whenever it wants, and it makes the most serene sky and the most refulgent sun arise from the storm.
… do not worry because evils get worse; our power, our winning love that has the virtue of always winning, our Will that can do everything and, with invincible patience, knows how to wait even for centuries—but what It wants and has to do is worth more than all the evils of creatures—in the face of Its invincible power and Its infinite value, their evils will be like little drops of water, like many trifles that will serve for the triumph of our love and for the greater glory of our fulfilled Will.”
All that creature’s stuff – our sins, worries, anxieties, pains, doubts, and fears – eclipses the divine light. Once we enter the cenacle fused with Jesus, we are on holy ground. It is time to remove the sandals of our earthly cares and give our full attention to God with the intention to learn from him the particular lessons he has planned. Our cenacle can help us to remain firmly planted in the Divine Will, which alone can bring a harvest of peace.
Lesson 2 – Knowledges
We acquire knowledges on the Divine Will by reading the writings of Luisa on our own or in a cenacle. But the cenacle is where we have the opportunity to unfold in a special way the infinite beauties of the Divine Will.
Volume 23, December 30, 1927
[Luisa:] Why do these knowledges on the Divine Fiat require so much work of Jesus and so many sacrifices?’ And Jesus, coming back, clasped me tightly in his arms to strengthen me, and added: “My daughter, if I wanted to work for a whole eternity in order to manifest a single knowledge on my Divine Will, it would not be enough. In fact, the value of a single one of them is such, and so great, that if you wanted to make a comparison to see what contains more value – whether the starry heavens, or the sun, the sea, the Earth… – one single knowledge of mine has more value than the whole creation together. In fact, my knowledge is of immense value, infinite and without limit; and as it comes out of us, wherever it reaches, it generates and multiplies to infinity the good and the light it contains. It is the true regenerator of the divine life. On the other hand, the Creation does not contain an immense virtue, and it is limited. This is why I spare neither work nor sacrifices – because I know all the value It [the Divine Will] contains; and the place in which I deposit It becomes for Me my divine field, my throne, my altar; and my jealousy of love is so great, that I never leave her free, and I work always, to keep her all intent on Me. What to say, then, if instead of one single manifestation on my Will, they are so many as to stud her, as more than a heaven, with many suns of my Will? Think about it yourself, my daughter, and appreciate a good so great, a seed so fecund in the field of your soul.”
Nothing earthly can remotely compare to the value of one new knowledge about the Divine Will. The Divine Will cenacle is, then, a divine oasis in the desert of earthly temptation and strife. Our reading and discussion are opportunities to discover what each passage reveals about the Divine Will itself and how we can put this knowledge into practice.
Jesus tells Luisa that the knowledges we acquire on Earth are what we carry into Heaven and that the quantity will determine our place there. What may seem like one “little light” on Earth becomes a full sun that accompanies us into Heaven as a testimony to our sanctification, for the glory of God, the joy of Heaven, and the enlightenment of all souls of all time. In our nothingness, the Divine Will accomplishes far more than we can ask or imagine.
Lesson 3 – The War of Love
In each cenacle we are re-commissioned as soldiers in God’s war of love. The cenacle exists to re-energize us, reinforce us in our mission, and strengthen our resolve.
Volume 12, April 26, 1921
My sweet Jesus came for just a little, and drawing me strongly to Himself, told me: “My daughter, I repeat it to you – do not look at the Earth. Let them do what they want. They want to make war – so be it; when they get tired, I too will make my war. Their tiredness in evil, their disenchantments, the disillusions, the losses suffered, will dispose them to receive my war. My war will be war of love. My Will will descend from Heaven into their midst. All of your acts and those of others done in my Volition will wage war on the creatures – but not a war of blood; they will wage war with weapons of love, giving them gifts, graces and peace. They will give such surprising things as to astonish the ungrateful man. This Will of mine, militia of Heaven, will confuse man with divine weapons; it will overwhelm him, and will give him the light in order to see – not evil, but the gifts and the riches with which I want to enrich him. The acts done in my Will, carrying the creative power within themselves, will be the new salvation of man; and descending from Heaven, they will bring all goods upon Earth. They will bring the New Era, and the triumph over human iniquity. Therefore, multiply your acts in my Will to form the weapons, the gifts, the graces, so as to be able to descend into the midst of creatures and wage the war of love on them.”
As we contemplate the infinite value of the Divine Will cenacle, we begin to understand its cosmic importance in God’s war of love. Each cenacle reveals new gifts as well as new duties. We have been selected for battle, not because we are strong, smart, or connected, but because we know our nothingness, our utter dependence on God. That, dear friends is our strength. Jesus has decreed that all our acts done in the Divine Will, will be a conquering force triumphing over human iniquity.
Dwelling on the daily dramas of this passing world is futile. In the cenacle our divine purpose in this dark age is revealed in a new way each time. Our mission in the Divine Will is always new, always fresh, and always wins. Fiat!
Prayer: O Jesus, my Beloved, thank you for the gift of this Divine Will cenacle. Without your abundant gifts and graces, I can do nothing. Keep me from sin so that I may not leave the strength and safety of your omnipotent Will, that I may be a fit soldier in your War of Love. Let your Fiat be my armour. Let our Mother’s Fiat be my strength. Let Luisa’s Fiat be my model and pattern. Here I am, Lord, I come to live in your holy and adorable Will, for your glory, the salvation of souls, and for the glorious triumph of the Divine Will on Earth as in Heaven. Fiat and glory! Amen.
