Dream of the Divine Attributes

Dear friends I recently had a very brief dream in which there was a list forming before my eyes on a piece of paper. Each line started with “I AM” – the very name of God.

Each statement ended with one of the Divine Attributes. I don’t remember the specifics, but I knew that’s what they were. I noticed that every few lines there was a blank line after I AM.

When I woke up it came to me that this was an illumination of sorts. The line where something was written was a line where I had made efforts to glorify God in that attribute. The ones with a blank line was where my effort had been insufficient or had missed the mark completely.

Then I remembered that Sister Assunta had written a Round of the Divine Attributes that was very beautiful. On the first page, the opening prayer from the lessons of our Blessed Mother shed more light on my dream, especially Step six below:

Heavenly Father, with the Holy Spirit, following Our Lady’s Lessons in union:

• (Step one) With Luisa, I sacrifice my human will in honor of God.

• (Step two) With Luisa, I empty myself of my human will to constitute the Divine Will as Principle of Life of my soul.

• (Step three) With Luisa, I decide with a firm resolution to no longer give life to my human will.

• (Step four) With Luisa, I give to You, my God, my human will as proof, giving my “Fiat!” and my acceptance of Your test.

• (Step five) With Luisa, I make the sacrifice of living without my human will and bind it to the Foot of the Divine Throne of God, for my entire life, without ever giving life to my human will.

• (Step six) O Most Holy Divine Fiat, in Unity with Luisa, allow my soul to take possession of all the Divine Qualities as much as is possible and imaginable for a soul.

I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

When I read Step Six: O Most Holy Divine Fiat, in Unity with Luisa, allow my soul to take possession of all the Divine Qualities as much as is possible and imaginable for a soul, I realized that this was the simple means God was giving me to address the deficit that had been highlighted in my dream. It was an immense void far too vast for me to fill on my own. I would have to give him his own things.

Through the Round of the Divine Attributes done in the Divine Will, I could offer reparation for all the ways that I and all souls of all time had neglected to offer love, gratitude, and glory to God for his Divine Attributes.

These rounds or other, spontaneous rounds of the Divine Attributes could be woven into the fabric of one’s daily life, to give God the glory of giving him his own things, offering Divine reparation, and to calling forth the Kingdom of the Divine Will.

The readings that preface the Rounds help us to understand the importance of the Rounds of the Divine Attributes. Here is a small excerpt:

My daughter, as you go around in My Will, to follow It in each Created thing, All of My Attributes Hear your call and Enter the Field in order to Form, each one of them, the Little Sea of their Qualities. O! how They Triumph in seeing Themselves Active – being Able to Form each One its Own Little Sea. But their Highest Pleasure and Delight Increases in being Able to Form in the little creature Their Seas of Love, of Light, of Beauty, of Tenderness, of Power, and So Forth. My Wisdom Acts as a Talented Artisan and with Marvelous Ingenuity, in Placing Its Immense and Infinite Qualities in the littleness. O! how the soul who Lives in My Will harmonizes with My Attributes. Each One of Them takes on its Office in order to Establish its Divine Quality. If you knew the Great Good that Comes to you by following My Will in All of Its Acts, and the Crafting It Carries Out in you, you too would feel the Joy of a Continuous Feast.
