Blessings in the Divine Will dear friends.
Jeff and Mary Zirkle have done a wonderful job of translating the video of Fr. Sergio Pellegrini’s talk at the Divine Will Unity Retreat held Oct 11-12, 2024, in Corato. There were four members of our CDWLP group present at that retreat. Links to the video are at the end of this post.
Before we go further here are a few definitions:
- “The Association of Luisa Piccarreta” is the official association of the Divine Will, made up mostly of lay people. It is, so to speak, the mother group with which all Divine Will groups are called to become affiliated as per the August 10, 2024 letter of Msgr. Paolo Rizzi, Postulator for the Cause of Luisa.
- Fr. Sergio Pellegrini is the Vicar General for the Diocese of Trani, the Ecclesial Assistant to the Association, and the Vice-Postulator for the Cause of Beatification of Luisa Piccarreta.
- Enza Arbore is the Association president.
Here are some points I felt were important, but there is so much more so please watch the video.
The call to Unity in the Divine Will groups is fundamental and necessary. Father says in the video that where there is disunity, it is not that one group is right and another is not, but that all groups have something they need to change and all have something to offer. Conflict is not from Jesus but we need to come together in unity. Living in the Divine Will is littleness and poverty (like Luisa).
Consider the early Church. They had no canon of Scripture, only scattered letters, and a very basic Church structure. Communication took weeks or months, and no one group had all the writings in front of them, and they learned by word of mouth. When there was disagreement and dissension, they met in person after travelling vast distances. It was a long process but the Holy Spirit was working in all of it. Each of the Apostles and Gospel writers had their own style and gifts. Together they had it all, whether they knew it or not! That’s how God works.
We in the Divine Will are in early days. We have access to mind-boggling amounts of information and DW reflections at our fingertips. It is without a doubt overwhelming and even confusing at times, but living in the Divine Will is not a race, it is a journey. We move forward in God’s timing with love, patience, and humility.
Fr. Pellegrini encourages us in the video to stay small and take it slow. The Association of Luisa Piccarreta in Corato started their first cenacle around 20 years ago with Volume One. Now they are on Volume 29, still on their first time around! They are masticating the writings, reading and living them day by day, letting the Lord teach them in the same time-frame that he taught Luisa who took 40 years to write the 36 Volumes. We can certainly learn from this!

We are at a very exciting time in the worldwide Family of the Divine Will. All of Heaven is waiting in joyful hope for God’s Will to reign on Earth as in Heaven. Approval of the local bishops and unity among Divine Will groups is what Fr. Pellegrini and Msgr Rizzi are asking of us so that Luisa’s cause can proceed. If we desire it, God will do it. Fiat!
Most Holy Trinity, you desire unity, so we desire unity. Infuse the light of the Divine Will in our every thought, word, and action. Remove all obstacles to unity. Make us ONE with you in your One Eternal Act for your glory, the glorification of Luisa, the salvation of souls and the coming of the Kingdom of the Divine Will on Earth as in Heaven. Fiat!
