Basic Introductions to the Gift of Living in the Divine Will in the writings of Luisa Piccarreta
First of all, it is important to remember that learning ABOUT the Divine Will is not the same as READING THE WRITINGS of Luisa. Just as with the Eucharist, we could spend many years learning all there is to know ABOUT it, but it is not until we receive it that the graces flow.
So use the resources below to help support what you are reading, but there are graces that can only come by immersing oneself in the writings, trusting that God has graces for you in every word.
If you are relatively new to the Divine Will, and even if you are not, you will find these resources edifying and enlightening. The list is not exhaustive but these basic introductions are all very good to use for our own learning and also as a resource for others who may be interested.
- Rev. Joseph Leo Iannuzzi, STL, S.Th.D.
- Print Materials by Fr. Iannuzzi – The best place to find print materials is on his website: www.LivingintheDivineWill.com – Living In The Divine Will – HOME. If you scroll down you will find his newest book his Theological Edition of the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, Volume 1. He just published this in December and will continue to work on the Volumes releasing them as they are completed. On that page is an email address where you can direct questions on ordering. There are other English translations of the Volumes but they are only about 85-90% accurate. We are allowed to read them but always in light of Church teaching as Fr. Iannuzzi explains here.
- Also on that page is his Doctoral Dissertation on Learning to Live in the Divine Will. He translates various passages to give a theological overview with reference to Catholic theology and magisterial teaching.
- Other of Luisa’s works that he has translated are presented in the Divine Will Prayer book found on this page: Other Publications – www.LivingintheDivineWill.com. Those works include: The 24 Hours of the Passion, The Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the DW, The Rounds of the Soul in the Divine Will, Luisa’s childhood memoirs, The Christmas Novena (Nine Excesses of Love) and more.
- One of the little books he has on his website is called Proper Catholic Perspectives. It addresses the ways that some groups and individuals have misinterpreted the writings. He gives the “proper Catholic Perspective”.
- There are also some free downloads on his website, and his Questions and Answers page is very helpful. His Doctoral dissertation: “The Gift of Living in the Divine Will in the Writings of Luisa Piccarreta” and “The Splendor of Creation: The Triumph of the Divine Will on Earth and the Era of Peace in the Writings of the Church Father, Doctors and Mystics”.
