A cautionary message…are we listening?

Volume 4, April 4, 1902
By destroying moral goods, physical and temporal goods are also destroyed. The power of reason and of humility.

Continuing in my usual state, my adorable Jesus keeps coming, but almost always in silence; or rather, He says to me something pertaining to the truth, but it happens that as long as the Lord is present I comprehend it and it seems I will be able to repeat it, but as He disappears, I feel that light of truth which had been infused in me being drawn from me, and I am unable to repeat anything. This morning, then, I had to struggle very much in waiting for Him, and as He came, He transported me outside of myself, showing Himself as very indignant. So, in order to placate Him, I made various acts of repentance, but Jesus seemed to like none of them. I would do my utmost in varying the acts of repentance – who knows, He might like one of them. At the end I said to Him: ‘Lord, I repent of the offenses given by me and by all creatures of the earth, and I repent and I am sorry for the sole reason that we have offended You, highest Good, who deserve love, while we have dared to give You offenses.’ With this last one the Lord seemed pleased and appeased.

After this, He transported me into the middle of a road on which there were two men in the shape of beasts, all intent on destroying every kind of moral good. They seemed to be strong like lions and drunken with passion; at the mere sight of them they struck terror and fright. Blessed Jesus told me: “If you want to placate Me a little bit, go and pass through those men, to convince them of the evil they do, facing their fury.” Though a little timid, yet I went. As soon as they saw me, they wanted to swallow me, but I said to them: ‘Let me speak, and then do to me whatever you want. You must know that if you reach your intent of destroying every moral good pertaining to religion, virtue, dependency and social welfare, without realizing your mistake, you would also destroy all corporal and temporal goods. In fact, as much as is taken away from moral goods, so much are physical evils doubled. So, without realizing it, you go against yourselves, destroying all those fleeting and passing goods which you so much love. Not only this, but you are looking for those who will destroy your very lives, and you will cause the survivors among you to shed bitter tears.’ Then I made a most great act of humility, which I am not even able to repeat, and they remained like someone who recovers from a state of madness; and also so weak, that they did not have the strength even to touch me. So I passed through them freely, and I understood that there is no power that can resist the power of reason and of humility.

The Divine Will veiled within created things

Volume 20, November 4, 1926

I was thinking to myself:  ‘When my sweet Jesus speaks about His Will, He always touches upon Creation, for the most part.  How is it?’  Jesus, moving again, told me:  “My daughter, one who must live in the Kingdom of the Supreme Fiat, must have, as her beginning, her origin and everything that my Will has done and is doing for love of her.  In fact, my Will is not loved because It is not known.  Now, Creation is the speaking life of my Will. In all created things my Will is hidden like a noble queen who, before going out, wants to be recognized.  Knowledge will tear the veil that hides It, so as to go out and reign in the midst of Its children.  Who can make known what my Will does for love of creatures with an act ever present, better than Creation, which is looked at and touched by everyone?

My daughter, look at the passionate love of this noble Queen.  She reaches the point of veiling Herself with earth in order to render it firm, so that man may walk safely on it.  And as he walks over the veil of earth which hides Her, She takes the soles of his feet in Her little hands, noble and royal, so that man may not stagger, to give him a firm step.  And while holding, through mother earth, the soles of man tightly to Her noble breast, She would want to go out, unveiling Herself of the veil of earth that covers Her, but man walks over Her without even paying attention to see who is sustaining his step; who maintains that great mass of earth so firmly for him, so that he may not stagger.  And the noble Queen continues to remain veiled with earth, waiting to be recognized with unspeakable patience, which only a Divine Will can possess, in order to be loved and to narrate Her long story and all that She has done for love of man, veiled by this earth.  Her love is so great that many times She feels the necessity to tear that veil of earth which covers Her; and making use of Her dominion, She shakes the earth, and with Her empire hides cities and peoples within Her womb, so that man may know that inside that earth, under his feet, there is a Will, ruling and dominating, which loves and is not loved, and which, sorrowful, shakes Itself to make Itself known.

In the Gospel, one can read with amazement of when, prostrated at the feet of my Apostles, I washed their feet; and I did not skip even the perfidious Judas.  This act, which the Church remembers, was certainly very humble and of unspeakable tenderness, but I did it only once.  My Will, instead, descends even lower; It places Itself under their feet with a continuous act in order to sustain them, to render the earth firm, so that they may not fall into the abyss.  Yet, no attention.  This noble Queen is waiting with invincible patience, veiled for so many centuries, that her Will become known.  And when It is known, She will tear the many veils that hide Her, and will make known what She has done for so many centuries, for love of man.  She will say unheard-of things, excesses of love, which no one has ever thought about.  This is why, when I speak to you about my Will, I often speak about Creation – because my Will is life of all created things, and through them, It gives life to all; and this life wants to be known so that the Kingdom of the Eternal Fiat may come.

Everywhere my Will is veiled.  It is veiled in the wind, and from within those veils, It brings man Its refrigerating freshness by caressing him, and Its regenerative breath in order to regenerate him continuously to new life, ever growing in grace.  But the noble Queen, veiled in the wind, feels Her caresses being rejected into offenses, Her freshness into ardors of human passions, and Her regenerative breath being returned with a deadly breath against Her grace.  So She shakes Her veils, and the wind turns into fury; with its impetuosity, it sweeps away peoples, cities and regions as if they were feathers, making known the power of the noble Queen hidden in the wind.  There is not one created thing in which my Will is not veiled.  Therefore, all of them are waiting for It to become known, and for the coming of the Kingdom of the Supreme Fiat and of Its full triumph.”

The Third FIAT

Volume 12, January 24, 1921
The third FIAT will bring to completion the glory and the honor of the FIAT of Creation, and will be confirmation and development of the fruits of the FIAT of Redemption. These three FIATs will conceal the Most Holy Trinity on earth.

I was feeling annihilated in thinking about this blessed FIAT, but my lovable Jesus wanted to increase my confusion. It seems that He wants to make fun of me, proposing to me astonishing and almost incredible things, taking pleasure in seeing me confused and more annihilated. And what is worse, is that I am forced by obedience to write them, to my greater torment. So, while I was praying, my sweet Jesus leaned His head against Mine, sustaining His forehead with His hand; and a light coming from His forehead told me: “My daughter, the first FIAT was pronounced in Creation with no intervention of creature. The second FIAT was pronounced in Redemption; I wanted the intervention of the creature, and I chose my Mama for the completion of the second FIAT. Now, for the fulfillment of both, I want to pronounce the third FIAT, and I want to pronounce It through you; I have chosen you for the fulfillment of the third FIAT. This third FIAT will bring to completion the glory and the honor of the FIAT of Creation, and will be confirmation and development of the fruits of the FIAT of Redemption. These three FIATs will conceal the Most Holy Trinity on earth, and I will have the Fiat Voluntas Tua on earth as it is in Heaven. These three FIATs will be inseparable – each one will be life of the other. They will be one and triune, but distinct among themselves. My Love wants it, my Glory demands it: having unleashed the first two FIATs from the womb of my Creative Power, It wants to unleash the third FIAT, because my Love can no longer contain It – and this, in order to complete the work which came from Me; otherwise, the works of Creation and of Redemption would be incomplete.”

On hearing this, I was not only confused, but stunned, and I said to myself: ‘Is all this possible? There are so many. And if it is true that He has chosen me, it seems to me that this is one of the usual follies of Jesus. And then, what could I do or say from within a bed, half crippled and inept as I am? Could I ever face the multiplicity and infinity of the FIAT of Creation and of Redemption? Since my FIAT is similar to the other two FIATs, I must run together with them, multiply myself with them, do the good which they do, braid myself with them… Jesus, think of what You are doing! I am not for this much.’ But who can tell all the nonsense that I was saying?

Now, my sweet Jesus came back and told me: “My daughter, calm yourself – I choose whomever I please. However, know that I begin all of my works between Myself and one creature; and then they are spread. In fact, who was the first spectator of the FIAT of my Creation? Adam, and then Eve. It surely wasn’t a multitude of people. Only after years and years did crowds and multitudes of people become spectators of It. In the second FIAT my Mama was the only spectator; not even Saint Joseph knew anything, and my Mama found herself more than in your condition: the greatness of the Creative Power of my work which She felt within Herself was such that, confused, She did not feel the strength to mention it to anyone. And if, then, Saint Joseph knew it, it was because I manifested it to him. So, this FIAT germinated like a seed within Her virginal womb; the ear of grain was formed in order to multiply It, and then It came to the light of day. But who were the spectators? Very few. In the room of Nazareth my dear Mama and Saint Joseph were the only spectators. Then, when my Most Holy Humanity grew up, I went out and I made Myself known – but not to all. Afterwards, It spread more, and It will still spread. So will the third FIAT be. It will germinate within you; the ear of grain will be formed; only the priest will have knowledge of It. Then, a few souls – and then, It will spread. It will spread, and will follow the same path as Creation and Redemption. The more crushed you feel, the more the ear of the third FIAT grows and is fecundated in you. Therefore, be attentive and faithful.”

Blessed Feast of Our Lady’s Assumption!

By Janet Klasson

Blessed Feast Day of Our Lady’s Assumption into Heaven, which put all of Heaven in feast! Here is a glorious passage from Volume 36 in which Jesus tells us something of the debt of gratitude we owe to Our Beautiful Mother for her continuous and unending Fiat!

O Jesus, King of Mercy, thank you for the gift of your Mama to us, and for the Gift of Living in the Divine Will that you are offering to us. May your Kingdom come and your adorable holy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Fiat!

Volume 36, August 15, 1938

The Feast of Assumption is the Most Beautiful, the Most Sublime Feast.  It is the Feast of the Divine Will Operating in the Heavenly Queen.

While my mind was swimming in the Sea of the Divine Will, I stopped at the Act in which my Mother and Queen was Assumed into Heaven.   How many Wonders, how many Enrapturing Surprises of Love.  And my sweet Jesus, as if He felt the need to speak about His Celestial Mother, all festive told me: “My blessed daughter, today is the Feast of Assumption.  This is the Most Beautiful, the Most Sublime, the Greatest Feast, in which We remain Glorified, Loved and Honored the most!  Heaven and earth are Invested with an Unusual Joy, never before felt.  The Angels and the Saints feel as if Invested with New Joys and New Happiness, and they all praise with New Songs the Sovereign Queen who, in her Empire, Rules over all, giving Joy to all!

“Today is the Feast of feasts—the Unique One, the New One, which was never repeated again. Today, the Day of the Assumption, celebrated for the first time the Divine Will Operating in the Sovereign Queen and Lady; the Marvels are Enchanting in each of Her smallest Acts, even in Her breathing, in Her motion.  Many of Our Divine Lives can be seen flowing in Her Act as many Kings that, more than bright suns, inundate—surround and embellish Her—making Her so Beautiful as to form the Enchantment of the Celestial Regions.  Do you think it’s nothing that each one of Her breaths, motions, works and Pains were filled with many of Our Divine Lives?  This is exactly the Great Prodigy of My Will Operating in the creature:  to form a Divine Life for each time It could enter the motion and the acts of the creature.  Then, since My Fiat possesses the Virtue of Bilocation and Repetition—doing again and again without ceasing everything She does—so the Great Lady feels these Divine Lives multiplied within herself, that do nothing other than further extend Her Seas of Love, Beauty, Power and Infinite Wisdom!  You must know that the Divine Lives She possesses are so Great and so many that, upon entering Heaven, they crowded the whole Celestial Region and, being impossible to contain them, they filled the whole Creation as well.  Therefore, there is no place where Her Seas of Love and Power do not flow, along with the many of Our Lives of which She is Possessor and Queen.

“We can say that She Dominates Us and that We Dominate Her.  By clothing Herself with Our Immensity, Power and Love, she populated all Our Attributes with Her Acts and with the many of Our Divine Lives that She had Conquered!  Therefore, from every place and everywhere, We feel Ourselves being Loved and Glorified—inside and outside of Ourselves, from within all created things, in the most remote hiding places—by this Celestial Creature and by those same Divine Lives that Our Fiat formed in Her.  O! Power of Our Will, only You can do such Prodigies to make Us Loved and Glorified as We deserve and want—to the extent of Creating many of Our Lives in the one who lets You Dominate.  This is why She can give Her God to all, because She possesses Him.  Even more, when She sees a creature disposed to receive Our Will, without losing one of Our Divine Lives, She has the Virtue of Reproducing, from within these Divine Lives that She possesses, yet another of Our Divine Lives to give to whomever she wants.

“This Virgin Queen is a continuous Prodigy.  What She did on earth, She continues in Heaven; because, when the Divine Will Operates, both in the creature and in Ourselves, her acts never end, and, while remaining in It, they can be given to all.  Does the sun, perhaps, cease to give its light to the human generation because it has given too much of it?  Not at all.  Even if it has given much, it is always rich in its light, and does not lose a single drop of it.  Therefore, the Glory of this Queen is Insuperable because She possesses Our Operating Will, that has the Virtue of forming in the creature Eternal and Infinite Acts.  She Loves Us always and Unceasingly with Our Lives that She possesses. She Loves Us with Our own Love.  She Loves us everywhere.  Her Love fills Heaven and earth and runs to pour Itself inside Our Divine Womb.  And We Love Her so much that We cannot Live without Loving Her.  While, in Loving Us, She Loves all, making everyone Love Us.  How could We resist and not give her anything She wants?  It is Our own Will that asks for what She wants, tying Us with Its Eternal Bonds so that We can refuse her nothing.  This is why the Feast of the Assumption is the Most Beautiful one:  it is the Feast of My Will Operating in this Great Lady, making Her so rich and Beautiful that the Heavens cannot contain Her.  Even the Angels remain speechless, and don’t know how to describe what My Will does in the creature.”

After this, while my mind remained stupefied in thinking about the Great Prodigies that the Divine Fiat Worked and continues to Work in the Celestial Queen, my beloved Jesus added: “My daughter, Her Beauty is Unreachable.  It enchants, it charms, it Conquers.  Her Love is such that She offers Herself to all, Loving all—leaving behind her Seas of Love.  She can be called Queen of Love, Winner of Love, because She Loved much, and through Love She won her God.  You must know that, by doing his will, man broke the bonds with his Creator and with all created things.  By the Power of Our Fiat, that She possessed, this Heavenly Queen tied her Creator to the creatures; tied all beings together—United them—put them back in Order and with Her Love, gave New Life to the human generations.  Her Love was so Great as to cover and hide, inside Its Seas, weaknesses, evils, sins—the creatures themselves.  O! If this Holy Virgin did not possess so much Love, it would be difficult for Us to look at the earth.  Only Her Love makes Us look at It, but We want to give Our Will to Reign in the middle of the creatures because She wants it so.  She wants to give to her children what She possesses, and by Love She will Win Us and Her children.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 36, August 15, 1938)

Echo His Words…

By Janet Klasson

O Beloved Jesus, I enter into union with you by means of prayer and echo your prayer to the Father:

Volume 17, July   1, 1924

How beautiful and touching it was to hear Jesus pray! And since I was accompanying Him in the sorrowful mystery of the Scourging, He made Himself seen pouring out Blood, and I heard Him say: “My Father, I offer You this Blood of Mine. O please, let It cover all the intelligences of creatures, rendering vain all their evil thoughts, dimming the fire of their passions, and making holy intelligences rise again. May this Blood cover their eyes and be a veil to their sight, so that the taste of evil pleasures may not enter them through their eyes, and they may not get dirty with the mud of the earth. May this Blood of Mine cover and fill their mouths, and render their lips dead to blasphemies, to imprecations, to all of their bad words. My Father, may this Blood of Mine cover their hands, and strike terror in man for so many evil actions. May this Blood circulate in Our Eternal Will in order to cover all, to defend all, and to be a defending weapon for the creature before the rights of Our Justice.” (L. Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 17, July 1, 1924)

Come Divine Will, come to reign upon the earth! Queen of Peace, pray for us! St. Joseph, Terror of Demons, pray for us! Fiat!

God’s Will Is Always Holy

By Janet Klasson

“Your Will is always Holy and whatever way I will be in It, I shall be fine.”

I first read the book Abandonment to Divine Providence by Rev. Jean-Pierre de Caussade many years ago. It shaped my spirituality and I believe was one of the ways God used to lead me to the spirituality of the Divine Will. I picked up the book again recently and opened it to a bookmarked passage. I was amazed at how much more strongly it spoke to me now that I have spent time with Luisa. I share it here with some of my own thoughts.

May God use it to lead you deeper into His Holy Will.

(Notes: 1. Clicking on the link in the title above will take you to a free version of the book. 2. All emphasis in the text below is mine.)

God Makes Known His Will Through Creatures.

In the present moment are made manifest the name of God, and the coming of His Kingdom.

The present moment is the ambassador of God to declare His mandates. The heart listens and pronounces its “fiat.” Thus the [abandoned] soul advances by all these things and flows out from its centre to its goal.

(Rev. Jean-Pierre de Caussade, Abandonment to Divine Providence, BOOK I. CHAPTER II. SECTION X.)

This reminds me of something I once heard about Saint Mother Teresa. Someone once asked her how they could know what the will of God was. She answered, “Wait and see what happens.” Whether or not she actually said it, it is a pretty good description of the radical practice of surrender to the Will of God required by those who desire to live in the Divine Will. Fr. Celso often says, “In the Divine Will, everything is Fiat!” It would be a good exercise to meditate on the life of Mary who, not just at the Annunciation, but in EVERY moment of her existence gave her unconditional “Fiat!” to God. O Blessed Mother, pray for us!

[The abandoned soul] never stops but sails with every wind. Any and every direction leads equally to the shore of infinity.

(Ibid.)

Fiat! This is it! As St. Paul tells us in Romans 8:28: “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” God is not afraid of anything, not COVID, not vaccines, not Bill Gates, not China, not the Illuminati, not even our mistakes. If we place all our trust in Him, walking with confidence and faith in God and His Church, trying to remain in a state of Grace, He will get us to “the shore of infinity” and we will scarcely know how.

Everything is a help to [the abandoned soul], and is, without exception, an instrument of sanctity. The one thing necessary can always be found for it in the present moment. It is no longer a choice between prayer and silence, seclusion and society, reading and writing, meditation and cessation of thought, flight from and seeking after spiritual consolations, abundance and dearth, feebleness and health, life and death, but it is all that each moment presents by the will of God. In this is despoilment, abnegation, renunciation of all things created, either in reality or affectively, in order to retain nothing of self, or for self, to be in all things submissive to the will of God and to please Him; making it our sole satisfaction to sustain the present moment as though there were nothing else to hope for in the world.

(Ibid.)

Our world has gotten very complicated. Do we not  long for this kind of heavenly simplicity? Yet it is within our reach. “Now” is the heart, the key of living in the Divine Will. It means detachment from our own plans, opinions, and desires. If I want to pray and a chatty friend calls, Fiat! If my spouse and I disagree on something and it causes a bit of strain, it may be that God wants to detach me from my opinions. Fiat!

Living the abandoned life requires great patience and trust. It’s like when there’s a baby in the house. That little blessing, who can neither speak nor look after one single need of his, is master of all around. Is God—or the baby—taking away our freedom? Not at all. Every moment presents a choice, i.e., change the baby myself or wait for my spouse to do it. As long as it is something of which God would approve and our daily duties would allow, it is permitted. For instance it is ok to ASK your spouse to change the baby, but it is not ok to grumble resentfully and do it yourself.

In the Divine Will when we call God into each moment, through our Prevenient Act and our Actual Acts throughout the day, when we make it “our sole satisfaction to sustain the present moment as though there were nothing else to hope for in the world”, each moment becomes more holy and fruitful than we can ever imagine.

If all that happens to a soul abandoned to God is all that is necessary for it, then we can understand that nothing can be wanting to it, and that it should never pity itself, for this would be a want of faith and living according to reason and the senses which are never satisfied, as they cannot perceive the sufficiency of grace possessed by the soul.

(Ibid.)

This reminds me of Fr. Celso’s list of things that tell us we are not living in the Divine Will: “worry, fear, anxiety, complaints, negativity, and sin”. He says that in the Divine Will, we are “peace-full, joy-full, and happy.” That’s a good, simple list. Fiat! That and to remember that the senses are “never satisfied”. If we are never satisfied, quite simply, we are not in the Divine Will.

To hallow the name of God, is according to the meaning of the holy Scripture, to recognise His sanctity in all things and to love and adore Him in them. Things, in fact, proceed from the mouth of God like words. That which God does at each moment is a divine thought expressed by a created thing, therefore all those things by which He intimates His will to us are so many names and words by which He makes known His wishes. HIS WILL IS UNITY and has but one name, unknown, and ineffable; but it is infinitely diverse in its effects, which are, as it were, so many different characters which it assumes. To hallow the Name of God is to know, to adore, and to love the ineffable Being whom this name designates. It is also to know, to adore and to love His adorable will at every moment and in all its decrees, regarding them all as so many veils, shadows and names of this holy and everlasting will.

(Ibid.)

If we only pick up one word in this passage, let it be the word UNITY. The Triune God is a Community of Love, a Loving Unity. We too are called to this unending Unity, especially in the Church. Whatever the problems in the Church are, no matter how bad they get, even to the hill of Calvary, God is in the Church and so must we be. He will never leave the Church he founded. He is purifying His Bride and there is a Resurrection around the corner. We need to pray, offer penance, be abandoned, and above all put the writings of Luisa in to practice.

God has given us this Gift of Living in the Divine Will, not for ourselves, but for the good of all. Since God can work through us in every moment in everything but sin, the only thing that can forestall this Mission he gave us through Luisa, is sin. So let us remain in a state of Grace and give our Fiat to each moment.

It (God’s Will) is holy in all its works, holy in all its words, holy in all its diverse characters, holy in all the names it bears.

It was for this reason that Job blessed the name of God in his utter desolation. Instead of looking upon his condition as ruin, he called it the name of God and by blessing it he protested that the divine will under whatever name or form it might appear, even though expressed by the most terrible catastrophes, was holy. David also blessed it at all times, and in all places. It is then, by this continual recognition of the will of God as manifested and revealed in all things, that He reigns in us, that His will is done on earth as it is in Heaven, and that our souls obtain nourishment.

(Ibid.)

To echo the words of Luisa above, “Your Will is always Holy and whatever way I will be in It, I shall be fine.” (Volume 8, June 25, 1907) Repeat this often and you will be at peace.

The whole matter of that incomparable prayer prescribed by Jesus Christ is comprised and contained in abandonment to the divine will. Many times daily it is recited vocally by the command of God and of Holy Church, but we repeat it at every moment in the centre of our hearts when we love to do, or to suffer whatever this holy will ordains. That which takes time to repeat in words, the heart pronounces at every moment, and it is in this way that simple-minded souls are called to bless God.

(Ibid.)

This is the Divine Will in a nutshell. Rev. de Caussade died 114 years before Luisa was born but this inspired work (and others like it) provided a strong foundation in the Church on which God could seamlessly lay the teachings of Luisa.

Nevertheless they cannot bless Him as much as they desire, and this inability is a subject of grief to them; so true is it that by the very means that seem like privations, God bestows graces and favours on faithful souls. To enrich the soul at the expense of the senses, filling it by so much the more as they experience the more terrible emptiness, is a secret of the divine wisdom.

(Ibid.)

The very word, “privations” points to Luisa. But here we see repeated the Divine Will teaching that our nothingness is the very container in which God pours his graces, and we are achingly unaware of it. Ah, but if we ache, we are not detached. We need to reach the point of not thinking about our own performance or lack thereof. Ours is just to glory in the Will of God in each moment come what may, as Fr. John O. Brown would say, “Now, and again, and again, and now, and now…”

The events of every moment bear the impress of the will of God, and of His adorable Name. How holy is this name! It is right, therefore, to bless it, to treat it as a kind of sacrament which by its own virtue sanctifies those souls which place no obstacles in its way.

Everything bearing the impress of this august Name should be held in the most profound veneration. It is a divine manna from Heaven, and imparts a constant increase of Grace. It is the reign of holiness in the soul, the bread of angels eaten on earth as well as in Heaven. We can no longer consider our moments as trifles since in them is a whole kingdom of sanctity and food for angels.

(Ibid.)

A glorious teaching! Thanks be to God, whose Holy Will never changes.

“Yes, Lord, may your kingdom come in my heart to sanctify it, to nourish it, to purify it, and to render it victorious over all its enemies. Moment most precious! How insignificant in the eyes of the vulgar, but how great in those enlightened by faith. If it is great also in the eyes of my Father who is in Heaven, how can I regard it as insignificant? All that comes from His hand is essentially good and bears the impress of its origin.”

(Ibid.)

Amen! Fiat!

Hoping Against Hope…

Hoping against hope, (Abraham) believed that he would become ‘the father of many nations’, according to what was said, ‘So numerous shall your descendants be.’

Romans 4:18

Blessings dear friends. When I came across this passage today, I felt I had to share it with you. We are in a time that seems bereft of hope, but the children of the Divine Will have every reason to hope, and to hope beyond reason, as Abraham did, who against hope, believed in hope. Fiat!

Volume 12, April 26, 1921

I continue in my painful state. My sweet Jesus came for just a little, and drawing me strongly to Himself, told me: “My daughter, I repeat it to you – do not look at the earth. Let them do what they want. They want to make war – so be it; when they get tired, I too will make my war. Their tiredness in evil, their disenchantments, the disillusions, the losses suffered, will dispose them to receive my war. My war will be war of love. My Will will descend from Heaven into their midst. All of your acts and those of others done in my Volition will wage war on the creatures – but not a war of blood; they will wage war with weapons of love, giving them gifts, graces and peace. They will give such surprising things as to astonish the ungrateful man. This Will of Mine, militia of Heaven, will confuse man with Divine weapons; it will overwhelm him, and will give him the light in order to see – not evil, but the gifts and the riches with which I want to enrich him. The acts done in my Will, carrying the Creative Power within themselves, will be the new salvation of man; and descending from Heaven, they will bring all goods upon earth. They will bring the New Era, and the triumph over human iniquity. Therefore, multiply your acts in my Will to form the weapons, the gifts, the graces, so as to be able to descend into the midst of creatures and wage the war of love on them.”

Then, with a more afflicted tone, He added: “My daughter, it will happen to Me as to a poor father, whose wicked children not only offend him, but would want to kill him; and if they don’t do it, it is because they cannot. Now, since these children want to kill their father, it is no wonder that they kill one another, that one is against the other, that they impoverish themselves, and they reach the point of being all in the act of dying. And what is worse, is that they don’t even remember that they have a father.

Now, what does this father do? Exiled by his own children, while these fight, wound one another, and are about to die of starvation, the father works hard in order to acquire new riches, gifts and remedies for his children. And when he sees them almost lost, he goes into their midst to make them richer; he offers remedies for their wounds, and brings peace and happiness to all. Now, conquered by so much love, these children will bind themselves to their father with a lasting peace, and will love him. The same will happen to Me. Therefore, I want you in my Will as faithful daughter of my Volition; and I want you at work together with Me to acquire the new riches to be given to the creatures. Be faithful to Me, and occupy yourself with nothing else.”

Laws and Kings

“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, ‘Know the Lord’, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.”

Jeremiah 31:33-34

Laws and kings were not part of God’s original plan for humanity. The intense longing of God’s heart as expressed in the above scripture passage (and echoed in Isaiah 42:6, Isaiah 54:10, Jeremiah 32:40, Ezekiel 37:26, Hebrews 8:8-12, and Hebrews 10:16-17) was that his law would be written on our hearts, then we would be his people and he would be our God. He created us for intimacy with him, the same intimacy that he and Adam shared before the Fall. Scripture says that they walked together in the garden in the cool of the evening in perfect unity and harmony. Paradise.

In The Book of Heaven, Volume 21, April 8, 1927 (see below), Jesus tells Luisa Piccarreta that when Adam fell it was from such a great height that it was a miracle he survived. He may have survived the Fall, but he was badly broken. His disobedience brought disorder, disunity, disharmony, hard labour, sickness, sin, and death. His great Fall warranted a very harsh sentence.

Fortunately for us, Divine Justice is not only perfectly just, it is also perfectly merciful. God was not willing to give up on fallen humanity. Nevertheless, the trek back up to the Order, the Place and the Purpose for which he created us would be unimaginably treacherous, the journey doomed outside of grace. For man it was impossible, but for God all things are not only possible, but once he decides for it, it is as good as done. So, God himself would need to accomplish our return, but it would take a few thousand years of patience, require a couple of Base Camps, and a continuous line of Sherpas—the priests and prophets. Kings too, but not in the way man imagined.

So the story of salvation history has been all about the long trek back to the summit, a summit so far above us it is beyond our imagining. If climbing Everest takes two months on average, how high the climb must be that has taken humanity 6,000 years—and counting! Adam fell from a GREAT height indeed and how easy it is on a long trek to get side-tracked, to stop on the way, and to forget all about the goal. It takes a Divine Mind to stay focused for millennia. Thanks be to our loving Father, who did not abandon or forsake us, even when he had every reason to.

After the Fall, the supernatural law and the natural law became shrouded by sin; man tended toward rebellion and lawlessness. God knew that if we were to survive the long climb back we would need laws. He chose a lowly man, Moses, to receive the Tablets of the Law, the first Base Camp from which to replenish our spiritual supplies. He chose a lowly nation, Israel, to carry the treasure to the Promised Land. From that lowly nation would come priests and prophets, the first Sherpas. He himself planned to be the Majestic Leader of his chosen people. But this fallen race often lost sight of their goal and, at one point, seeing that all the pagan nations had earthly kings, they begged for one too.

“Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, and said to him, ‘You are old and your sons do not follow in your ways; appoint for us, then, a king to govern us, like other nations.’ But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, ‘Give us a king to govern us.’ Samuel prayed to the Lord, and the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them. Just as they have done to me, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt to this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so also they are doing to you. Now then, listen to their voice; only—you shall solemnly warn them, and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.’

“So Samuel reported all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. He said, ‘These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen, and to run before his chariots; and he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to plough his ground and to reap his harvest, and to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his courtiers. He will take one-tenth of your grain and of your vineyards and give it to his officers and his courtiers. He will take your male and female slaves, and the best of your cattle and donkeys, and put them to his work. He will take one-tenth of your flocks, and you shall be his slaves. And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves; but the Lord will not answer you in that day.’

“But the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel; they said, ‘No! but we are determined to have a king over us, so that we also may be like other nations, and that our king may govern us and go out before us and fight our battles.’ When Samuel had heard all the words of the people, he repeated them in the ears of the Lord. The Lord said to Samuel, ‘Listen to their voice and set a king over them.’ Samuel then said to the people of Israel, ‘Each of you return home.’”

1 Samuel 8:4-22

You can hear the deep sigh in the Lord’s final words. Our God will never override the human will, even knowing what sorrow and woe it will bring. Still, despite man’s infidelity and persistent rebelliousness, God’s mercy and grace increased. He never lost sight of the goal, in fact, the closer we got to the goal, the more mercy and grace abounded. God’s glorious plan of salvation advanced, an unimaginable plan to send his own Beloved Son to pay, in both human and Divine currency, the ultimate price for our sins.

Thus, the trek passed through the Womb of a lowly Maiden, Mary. This new Eve would give birth to the new Adam, Jesus Christ, whose perfect obedience, even to death, death on a cross, would redeem fallen man and lead to the establishment of the Church, the second Base Camp, higher up. The spiritual supplies from this Base Camp were extraordinary. God gave us the King we did not expect nor deserve and went far beyond that, giving his wayward children the unimaginable Gift of the Holy Spirit, anointing all the baptized as priests, prophets—and kings!

Grace and mercy increased still more the nearer we got to the summit. We would need every Holy Breath of it, as the higher we climbed the thinner the air became and the icier the wind. Over the next 2,000 years, the teachings of the Church and the merits of the saints continued to fill our tanks with rich, purified air, as long as we remained faithful to them. The food of the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, gave us new-found strength for this most demanding last leg of the journey.

And here we are today, still climbing, but increasingly more exhausted, sometimes even disheartened. Are we there yet?

It cannot be denied that we are on the cusp of events of cosmic importance. Our merciful Father has sent our Blessed Mother to soil her feet on the earth again and again, to warn us repeatedly through approved apparitions to repent of our sins and pray the rosary. She is the ultimate Sherpa, our refuge of safety until in the end her Immaculate Heart triumphs as she promised at Fatima. Just as at Cana, she is interceding for our needs. Just as at Cana, Our Lord is saving the best wine for last.

We have been tested every step of the way to see whether or not we will keep his commandments, whether or not we will surrender our paltry human will to once again dwell in His Most Holy Divine Will. Now, beyond our wildest imaginings the gates of the Kingdom of the Divine Will are almost in sight. Through the unimaginable Grace of the Gift of Living in the Divine Will, God is making possible our return to the Order, the Place and the Purpose for which we were created by Him. We have been given Luisa as our last Sherpa and The Book of Heaven as our roadmap for this final push. The Sabbath rest is oh, so near.

The following reading from The Book of Heaven was written before the Second World War, yet it seems to speak even more clearly to our time and our place on the trek. Jesus speaks to Luisa:

“Poor peoples, poor children of Mine—under the regime of men without pity, without heart, and without the grace to be able to act as guides for their subjects. Indeed, the epoch of the Jewish People is being repeated, as they remained without a king when I was near to coming upon earth, and were under the dominion of an alien empire, of barbarous and idolatrous men who did not even know their Creator.

Yet, this was the sign of My nearing Coming into their midst. That epoch and this one hold hands in many things, and the disappearance of thrones and empires is the announcement that the Kingdom of My Divine Will is not far. It having to be a Universal, Pacific Kingdom, there will be no need of kings to dominate It—each one will be king to himself. My Will will be for them Law, Guide, Support, Life and Absolute King of all and of each one; and all the arbitrary and rightless leaders will be shattered like dust in the wind.

The nations will continue to fight against one another—some by war, some by revolution, among themselves and against My Church. They have a fire in their midst that devours them, that gives them no Peace, and they can give no Peace. It is the fire of sin, and the fire of acting without God that gives them no Peace; and they will never make Peace if they do not call God into their midst, as regime and bond of Union and of Peace. And I let them do, and I will make them touch with their own hands what it means to act without God.

“But this does not prevent the Kingdom of My Supreme Fiat from coming; this is all creature’s stuff, of the low world, that My Power knocks down and disperses whenever it wants, and it makes the most serene Sky and the most refulgent Sun arise from the storm. On the other hand, the Kingdom of My Divine Will is from on high, from the Heavens, formed and decreed in the midst of the Divine Persons—no one can touch It or disperse It.…

Be certain, do not worry because evils get worse; Our Power, Our Winning Love that has the virtue of always Winning, Our Will that can do everything and, with Invincible Patience, knows how to wait even for centuries—but what It wants and has to do is worth more than all the evils of creatures—in the face of Its Invincible Power and Its Infinite Value, their evils will be like little drops of water, like many trifles that will serve for the Triumph of Our Love and for the greater Glory of Our Fulfilled Will.”

Luisa Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 30, January 3, 1932

God is doing a new thing. It may not yet be in evidence, but take heart! The summit is just above that last high cloud. After the Triumph of the Immaculate, we will really understand what St. Augustine meant when he said, “Love and do what you will.” For then—finally—we will be his people and he will be our God. Fiat!

Arise, O Jerusalem, stand upon the height;
 look towards the east,
and see your children gathered from west and east
at the word of the Holy One,
rejoicing that God has remembered them.
For they went out from you on foot,
 led away by their enemies;
but God will bring them back to you,
carried in glory, as on a royal throne.

Baruch 5:5-6

The Fall of Adam

I was thinking to myself:  “How is it that, by withdrawing from the Divine Will, from such height Adam fell so low?”

And Jesus, moving in my interior, told me:  “My daughter, in the natural order, one who falls from a very high point either perishes completely or remains so wrecked and deformed that it is impossible for him to recover his original state of health, of beauty, of stature.  He will remain as a poor cripple, blind, bent over and lame; and if he is a father, from him will come the generation of the cripple, of the blind, of the hunchback, and of the lame.

“In the same way, in the supernatural order, Adam fell from an extremely high point.  He had been placed by his Creator at a point so high as to surpass the height of the heavens, of the stars, of the sun.  By living in My Will, he dwelled above everything—in God Himself.  Do you see, then, from what point Adam fell?  Given the height from which he fell, it was a miracle that he did not perish completely; but even though he did not perish, the blow he received with the fall was so violent, that it was inevitable for him to remain crippled, wrecked, and deformed of his rare beauty.  He remained shattered in all his goods, numb in operating, dazed in his intellect.  A continuous fever debilitated him, such that, as it weakened all his virtues, he no longer felt the strength to dominate himself.  The most beautiful character of man—the dominion of himself—had vanished, while passions took over, to tyrannize him, and to render him restless and melancholic.  And since he was father and head of the generations, from him came the family of the cripple.

“They think that not doing My Will is something trivial, but instead, it is the total ruin of the creature; and as many more acts of her own will as she does, so many times does she increase her evils, her ruin, and she digs for herself the most profound abyss in which to fall.”

Luisa Piccarreta, Book of Heaven, Volume 21, April 8, 1927
